
A Message from Ted Zaharko
The Royal LePage Foothills Shelter Foundation was created by our company to effectively support a variety of shelter needs within the communities in which we live and work. By doing so, our Realtors will also be more clearly recognized for their generous contributions and volunteer efforts within their communities – recognition they thoroughly deserve.
The Royal LePage Foothills Shelter Foundation has a board of directors made up of 4 public members and 6 of our own Foothills Realtors. One of the key aspects of this reorganization is the introduction of public members to our internal organization. These people are communityminded individuals who believe in the cause of shelter as it applies to our Mission Statement, and will add a unique voice on issues pertaining to domestic abuse and shelter. Their input will be invaluable.
By establishing our own Royal LePage Foothills Shelter Foundation, we are effectively creating a positive image and caring footprint for our Realtors and our company. More importantly, our Foundation has an effective working committee and is the driving force of our success. Through their efforts, we will continue to achieve our goals of providing shelter to those most vulnerable in our communities. The Royal LePage Foothills Shelter Foundation is a work in progress – a living, changing organization – and we are confident we will fulfill our pledge to support shelter efforts. Our Foundation is a reflection of the commitment of our Realtors, and we will strive to be successful in our Foundation to mirror their excellence.

Our mission as Realtors and Supporters is to raise funds for non profi t organizations that help protect, educate and strengthen children and their families from abusive situations. Th is support will help provide a safe and secure environment allowing them the opportunity to gain the confi dence and skills necessary for a positive future.
Why Should You Get Involved?
There are many reasons WHY you should get involved:
• You will be supporting local shelters
• You are giving back to the communities
in which you live and work
• You will gain the “Feel Good Factor,”
knowing your donations are being used
by local people who truly need your
help
• AND you will receive a tax receipt.
Who are we?
We are local Realtors with Royal LePage Foothills, dedicated to supporting charitable organizations in raising awareness of the need for shelter from abusive/violent home life.
What sets us apart?
Our Foundation administers ALL of our fundraising activities and Realtor donations, and 100% of the monies raised go to the local shelters we identify. We work in harmony with the national Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and all of our efforts are credited towards national shelter goals.
What does the Committee do?
We are a “working” committee, bringing together Realtors and the public to raise awareness of our RLF Shelter Foundation via fund-raising events/increasing Realtor subscription for donations and public donations. When did we become our own Foundation? Our Foundation was sanctioned in December 2008, and established with the cooperation of the Royal LePage National Shelter Foundation
